5g tango

5GTANGO project is an EU-funded project Horizon 2020 and part of the 5G-PPP initiative. This innovative project had a 32-month workplan that started in June 2017 and will finish in January 2020. The Consortium is made up of 17 partners representing telecom operators, manufacturers, system integrators, service providers, SME developers, research and academic institutes.

It addresses the flexible programmability of 5G networks and, in particular, the validation and verification of network services in multivendor environments, something that is not present in existing NFV architectures today.

This project is focused on reducing the time-to-market of network services, enabling new business opportunities, accelerating NFV uptake in the industry and reducing the entry barrier for third-party developers and support Virtual Network Functions (VNFs).

What 5GTANGO proposes is an integrated platform where the outcome of the service development kit, that is a packaged NFV forwarding graph of composed services, is automatically tested and validated in the Validation and Verification (V&V) platform for their posterior deployment with a customizable orchestrator, compatible with common existing Virtual Infrastructure Managers (VIM) and Software Defined Networks (SDN) controllers in the market.

As a continuation of the SONATA project, 5GTANGO project is also an open source project whose results are published in the same  public GitHub repository used by SONATA under Apache v2.0 license.
