A few days ago, a Summer School on Network programmability, Emerging methodologies, technologies, and applications, took place in Lipari, Aeolian islands, Italy.
Goal of the summer school was to provide a comprehensive overview of the emerging methodologies and technologies for network programmability and their impact on modern application scenarios, as well as identify and address major open issues and challenges behind the current network softwarisation trend.
A International Summer School on Latency Control for Internet of Services took place in Karlstad (Sweden) from the 26th to the 30th of June 2017.
The summer school schedule comprised frontal lectures, tutorials and hands-on sessions in Lab Rooms, in order to provide the students with an introduction to a variety of hot topics in this field and allow the students to gain concrete experience with selected methodologies and programming technologies.
One of the important issues to be addressed in the new era of 5G service management is related to network and service monitoring. The existing monitoring tools today do not achieve to satisfy the requirements stemming from the services envisioned in the 5G landscape.

The IEEE 5G Greece Summit is part of a successful series of 5G Summits that have been held since 2015 in America, Asia and Europe, and will contribute to continuous provision of a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment.

The 5G PPP Security WG, in which SONATA participated through our partner members Telefonica and I2CAT, has just released a white paper.
This white paper describes the 5G PPP Security Landscape of Phase 1 projects, covering the scope in 5G PPP Phase 1 Projects with specific reference to 5G Security. Its is twofold:
OSM-Mid-Release#3 meeting is taking place in Sophia Antipolis this week.
This is the second time that SONATA, through some consortium partners that regularly contribute to OSM as members of this open source community, participates in these meetings and makes a presentation to the OSM community about the project results.
SONATA presentation took place this morning and, in this occasion, SONATA was represented by Manuel Peuster (University of Paderborn and Tiago Batista (Ubiwhere).
